RailKing PCC Streetcar inner dimensions?

I'm thinking of buying an MTH RailKing PCC streetcar to use as a base for a major kitbash/modelling project. I've read that this particular model rides a little high, my model is going to be as close to scale as possible so I'm wondering, anybody that has the RailKing PCC, how high is the motor/boards/etc when measuring from the rail head to the top? I'm going to have about 3 1/8" height to work with. Thanks!
