I figured this would be the right forum to post this to, anyways I have 2 bells here and am trying to find out more information on them. The smaller one is a Graham-White 12" bell that I picked up in Pennsylvania, I believe it was on early EMD diesels. It looks like the hose connects inside the bell rather than on top. The second bell is a 16" steam engine bell picked up in Vermont. I don't know much about this bell except the base of the stand seems to be cupped rather than flat. There are 2 holes at the bottom and one side of the cradle has a flat spot where it looks as if it was bolted there as well. We think this bell may be from the Boston & Albany Railroad but like I said we aren't sure. Not sure exactly who made this one or what the markings might say about it.

The larger bell doesn't look like the Baldwin shape or style, so maybe Alco or Lima possibly. On Baldwin bells, most of the time they stamped the loco classification numbers into the end of the stem, around the ringer hole. You can usually find it under the big flat washer, if it hasn't been obliterated by someone trying to drive the bell out of the yoke with a sledge or jack. Once you have the classification number, sometimes you can figure out pretty close what type engine it came from.
