I was going through the latest issue of Family Tree magazine and found a website that may be of interest to some of you folks. The site - www.gendisasters.com - is just that, a site about disasters. When you get there search by state and on the right side of the page is a list of various types of disasters, one of which is railroad related. Click on that and start reading.
The site is neither all encompassing nor in depth, but offers copies of newspaper articles contemporary to each listed disaster. I spent quite awhile this afternoon frittering away my time in the state of Colorado. Kind of fun, to tell the truth - never knew there had been a circus train disaster in this state, for example.
Anyway, hope you enjoy it.
