I've never seen any, how are they?  Am I correct in saying no detail parts come with the kits (ex. ARA boxcar), just roof, sides, ends, floor?  That leaves grabs, stirrups, trucks, roof walk, brake detail, paint and decals to be purchased separately, correct?

Are the doors separate or even included in the kit?

Ted Schnepf, at Rails Unlimited, will be happy to answer all your questions:  (847) 697-5353 or (847) 697-5366

I have seen his completed cars, and they are absolutely unbelievable, especially the door and half CB&Q outside braced boxcar.

Jack, I sent him an email a day or 2 ago and got an answer back today. The only question I have now (and I think you answered it) was if the doors were part of the sides or if they would have to be purchased somewhere else. I'll have to get one. What I thought was an ARA 1932 car is really an ARA 1923 car.  About the only difference I can see is in the side sills, at least on the Seaboard cars.

SAL was the 2nd largest order for the 1932 cars.  They got them as kits and put them together here in Portsmouth.  The SAL cars had flat, riveted ends and 11-panel lapped roofs.
