I think I've read that there's been RS 1 thru currently 5 but not every number in between was a RS version. I think I've read there was 1, 2.5, 4, and now 5.

Is there an easy way to see what version my engines have?

Several are ERR upgrades in the past 5 years which I assume are 4.0. I also had 2 upgraded by TAS when they were in Canfield OH and am sure they were 4.0 as well.

I think my only RS5 is my B &O PWC F-3, but wondered if any others were 5.0 or less than 4 but don't know how to determine.

PaperTRW posted:

There are distinct hardware versions of RailSounds 1, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5 and 6. The others -- things like 4E, 5-4, 5.5 -- are software (chip) updates.

A RailSounds history was posted, and I tried to correct and expound as best I could in this thread:

Thanks. Guess I should've searched as that thread had just about everything I needed. Pretty sure everything I own is RS4 except for the B&O F3s which are RS5.
