There are two Milwaukee Road Solid Stripe GP7s on eBay; one has an original frame and the other has a frame from a standard non-solid stripe GP7;

There are not two different frames.
Yes there are two different frames; Look at the position of the Long side railings.
It's subtle but its there.
The difference I see is there is a larger gap between the right side of the hand rail and the steps, is that the correct frame? That pushes the far left of the hand rail into the into the open area near the steps. I would guess that is the original.
CORRECT!
The correct and original solid stripe 2338 Milwaukee Road GP7 frame is the one where the handrails are at the very end of the frame with the gap near the stairs; the other tell is not shown but there is a black paint over-spray on the underside at the horn area; not present in the common 2338 version.
There are a few other tells as well. It's too bad that the seller of the wrong one will pass it off to some unlucky buyer.
