Your posts are always insightful, informative and well thought out.  I am not a fan of GG1's but that model is very nice.  Say, on a different note, would love to see photos of your layout.  I think I recall reading recently you are doing a combo gauge?

Only in my imagination... along with the imaginary catenary wires!!!

Greg, thanks for the kind words.

I was planning a combo O-Gauge / Standard Gauge layout.  But then recently decided to go with two separately themed layouts:  an O-Gauge hi-rail layout in the finished lower-level of our home; and a Standard Gauge "tinplate" style layout at a future point in the lower level of my photography studio.  Once I finish clearing out some excess inventory (which my wife can't wait to see happen ), I'll be starting construction of the O-Gauge layout which I'll document here.  I was just on the phone this afternoon with Clarke Dunham discussing an art-deco style, industrial city-scape backdrop.  Fun stage to be planning all this stuff!!!
