Confusing statement, as there is NO headlight on the front nose door in the photo above. There are also NO number boards, as I assume they will be "add-ons" during the completion of the models, maybe even after paint is applied?
No stainless steel sides.
I didn't think FT models had ANY stainless steel sides when they were delivered.

Stainless steel side panels didn't appear on Santa Fe F's until the 16 Class F3's were being built, beginning with the 22LABC. 16LABC-21LABC had painted side panels and the "long" warbonnet (past the second/middle porthole.)

The "short" warbonnet (past the 1st/front porthole) also began to appear with the 22LABC.

Rusty

Jonathan, your personal record is awarded ten merits for accuracy in rendering the complicated compound curvature of the warbonnet stripe.

The only suggestion I can make is to paint the air horns red instead of black.  I only recall seeing them painted red, although they did accumulate some soot from exhaust when running on a unit in trailing position within a consist.

Is the headlight larger or is it me? ;-)

I blew up the unpainted versions of the drawings to match it relative size wise between the upper and the lower in several photographs, both side and front, because it looked a bit too big to me too and yet they matched every photograph I tried.  The Santa Fe lower was added on by the railroad all the way up to the 27 class and so doesn't match the factory lower, which is indeed noticeably smaller.

Jonathan, thanks for posting, nice work!  Now that you have Tom's approval, I can't wait.

I never thought I would have a nice, scale set of passenger FT's.  They're one of my favorites.

Looking forward to the freight schemes!

Jonathan, one last question, did you ever read the email I sent you about the Snyder, Texas station and it's architect?

Howard,

I did read the email you sent.  It was fascinating being an architect myself.  I love the Art Deco style in general and the ASTF always had a good history when it came to hiring qualified architects throughout its history.

Finally another ATSF diagram for input.  Working on the Cat Whiskers version later this afternoon.

Right now models are being painted and decals being produced off the master files.  Scott is off to Asia again in August and I suspect we will see some final images by then.  Right now, everyone is waiting to see sample painted models.

All the tooling is with the Phase III dynamic brake.  The photo above just doesn't have the casting placed over the tooling yet.  Should there be interest in running more of these, there is a chance the non-dynamic brake version could be done.

Waiting in eager anticipation!
