Just received the new Santa Fe F3 SuperBass B-unit today. I was curious how the plating would look like since no photos or samples existed. You'll be happy to know that Lionel did a great job with the finish. It has just the right sheen. Not chrome like at all. I snapped a few photos which are tough to take but you get the idea. There were a few minor issues that I had on mine. You might want to inspect yours upon delivery. The electro-coupler was loose as shown in photos below. I need to remove the steps and swing the coupler out so I could tighten the coupler - no problem fixed. The removable hatch on top does not fit flush. The volume pot seems to high and hits the hatch. It does have two magnets but should fit a little better. The last thing I noticed is the coupler length is longer on one side (with electrocoupler) vs the dummy coupler side. I attached a photo. Its noticeable. I'm still waiting for the F3's to ship.

I picked up my ABBA set yesterday.  Looks and sounds great.  Yes the rear couplers are a little longer resulting in a difference in the gap after the B units compared to the gap between the front A and B units.

Here is the full set pulling a long freight.  Now if I just had some Santa Fe 21 inch passenger cars???

Two nit picks so far.  The rear A unit has a noisy smoke fan.  Back to Lionel with that one.  Also the B units do not have a sensor so had to add the Legacy information manually in the LCS. (Wish there was an orange module)

Look nice. As asked, how does the Super Bass sound?

Was hoping they would model the stainless steel sides as the units were produced, with a polished, mirror like finish. It's the reason they appear black in some images. I'm now very hesitant to place an order for the PA's, they should be just like the 18" aluminum Santa Fe cars. Even if 347C is a "fooby", you can see the mirror like stainless panels.

Don't know what coupler they used on that set. On the Lionel F7's from a few years back which couple together with one inch between the units themselves. About a quarter inch between the curtains on the units. They used part #6208447550 coil coupler/MNT C/ length 1.44". They were ten dollars a piece from Lionel. They look good with these couplers hopefully they still stock them.
