I had to reset my tiu so lost my previous settings. Now I don't seem to be able to re-program one of my variable channels to fixed. I have looked in Barry's book and must be missing the procedure. I did it before but have forgotten how ?

When in the TIU set up menu, there should be a choice of fixed or variable. I'm pretty sure that's it. or when in variable mode (choosing say variable 1) check the soft keys.
Shouldn't be too hard, then again, if it's easy how come I'm not sure either!
MENU/SYSTEM/DCS SETUP/scroll to desired channel/select FXD softkey

In the 2nd edition, it's on page 45.
This and a whole lot more is all in "The DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd Edition", now available for purchase as an eBook or a printed book from MTH's web store site! Click on the link below to go to MTH's web page for the book!
Thanks Barry. It worked. I needed the guidance to where to find the process.
Gary,
Why?
... because Gary provided a concise answer (probably taken from page 74 of the MTH-provided DCS Command System User’s Guide) and Asheville division of Southern thanked you, ignoring Gary's response.
Not a big deal, but it would have been nice to thank Gary too!
Eddie,
OK, thanks. FWIW, it happens to all of us from time-to-time, me included.
I simply wanted to advise the OP that the information he was seeking was, indeed, in the book.
I guess we never thank all the people we should in this world ! I had tried the process in the mth Manual and still got lost.
