Being that it's Halloween time, and there's many different sized pumpkins(whole, not carved) displayed in my house; I realized that they could be used to create some interesting layout scenes:

- pumpkins - hollowed out and big enough for an O gauge train to pass through them, by carving tunnel portals into them and then placing the pumpkins portal-to-portal(side-by-side); and, cutting in designs/features, that could be lit, could be quite visually appealing...

- using smaller hollowed out pumpkins of various shapes, and stacking them one-on-top-of-the-other, secured in place with tooth picks or wooden skewers... funky looking highrise pumpkin buildings/scenes could be created... a little pumpkin cityscape/skyline.

Seems like an excellent medium to work with... the orange squash.

Murph,

Very nice use of the friendly fall squash.

Charlie,

Another visual treat!

I've got quite a good imagination; and pumpkins... those remarkable looking squashes, lend themselves to a vibrant mind.

Hollowing out an intact stem, would make a scene stealing natural chimney. Especially, if you had smoke coming out of it.

Those ubiquitous round, goose-neck, industrial lights would look spot on... adorning an old pumpkin building.

Scale model doors, windows, metal chimney's etc... would definitely work; as would metal fire escapes, the right lighting...

Nice friendly, fun medium... those pumpkins.
