You've heard all about it, you know it, you love it - here are two more views from last weekend featuring IRM's CB&Q E5(A) led Nebraska Zephyr!

What a chase - running well over 80 mph in a diagonal cut across the state of Illinois - Amtrak should lease it.

I think it would be a good idea to refrain from such speed claims. BNSF has a maximum speed limit (outside of the METRA area) of 79MPH, per FRA regulations. I would hate to find out that someone at Amtrak "discovered" such claims, and then fired someone out of the Chicago region. That is what happened two years ago at the Train Festival in the Quad Cities area, after someone at Amtrak saw the Youtube videos of their Heritage unit/units operating behind the various steam locomotives on the excursions.

Regardless of "GPS indicated speeds", the ACTUAL train speed COULD have been lower.

All I know is the NZ blew past me a LOT faster through Western Springs on Saturday than it did through Highlands on Sunday.  My auto advance rattled off about twice the pictures on Sunday as opposed to Saturday.

I think Challenger Models(HO) is the only company that did the Denver/Nebraska Zephyr passenger cars. Oriental(HO) did the E5's way back when.

Kato's doing the "Silver Streak" Zephyr, a non-articulated trainset in N.  Seeing they're also doing two other E5's(including 9911, Silver Pilot), maybe they got plans...
