realistic block signal operation

Hello again fellow 3railrs.

Does anyone know of a way to wire signals (lionel 153s and MTH 30-11025 1 over 1) for realistic operation (re: green as train approaches signal, red as soon as train passes signal mast)? any links to previously discussed topics with such information or schematics would be greatly appreciated.

There are ways to do this, but remember that the 153's don't have a yellow signal whereas the MTH's do.  You will need to create some insulated track sections, generally they will be the length of the train you will run...If you change the length of the train, you will not be able to accomplish what you are doing...Each signal will need a relay to operate reliably...
