yea they come unpainted. i paint the base color of the brick that i want. i think for this building it was rust. then i add accent color if desired. i just use a small stuff brush and randomly put it over the base paint. i think for this building i used railroad tie brown. then i use light weight spackling from a big box hardware store for the grout. i try on base coat to not paint too heavy and as much as possible stay out of grout lines so more room for spackling. i pretty much work the spackling over the whole surface and keep wiping until most all of it is off with my finger/thumb except in grout lines. don’t let the spackling dry or it won’t come off very well so work small areas at a time. it is a little time consuming but generally comes out pretty good. i think once ya try it you will find the hang of it.  i did tons of this inside and outside the buildings on my sugar beet factory. all these buildings done that way  also inside lol  IMG_0624IMG_2557

Dennis Brennan provides very detailed instructions with his building kits. This was his suggestion for Richmond Packing Company.....one of his Frank Ellison Delta Lines series kits

White Primer

These three: Caramel, Flat Red and Camo Earth Brown……

Caramel

Flat Red

The Camo Earth Brown is just dusted on.......

Here is the finished building.....

Here is what Dennis recommended to simulate a "filled in" window.......

I lthought it was a great idea......

When you do a close up of the finished product it looks real. That’s remarkable craftsmanship.
