before it gets said i know people opinions of this but I had a hobby lobby gift card. so my wife flawlessly paints a beautiful pond on glass. i was told i could use glass from people. i used the woodland scenic undercoat due to me liking there colors. so I am using woodland scenic all the way. So it is painted and dried. I put water on and my pain start splintering and coming up. ok, after seeing this i go and wash it all off. She then repaints and waits to dry. This morning i pour water again and same happens. Idk what happened as I did a pond last week same way and it worked. Any ideals. I am gonna buy some envirmentex or whatever it is called. but I still have like 3/4 a bottle of Realistic water i wanna use.

Try painting the bottom in a test area to see how that looks.
im painting on a glass pane and plan inserting it in to my layout. I dont want to paint to layout
I think the suggestion was to paint the bottom (underside) of the glass, so that the woodland scenic "water product would not come into contact with the paint, hence eliminating your issue.
oh wow, ok I hope that didnt show my ignorance. thank you. i will say though it is odd that worked perfect last week and now this.
What kind of paint is your wife using? You can pour the Realistic Water over a painted surface but it has to be 100% acrylic paint.
I copied the instructions for Realistic Water directly from the Woodland Scenics Website.
"INSTRUCTIONS Do NOT shake. Covers 227 in2 (14.6 dm2 ) or 17 in (43 cm) diameter when poured 1/8 in (3 mm) deep (some shrinkage will occur). Seal water cavity with Plaster Cloth (C1203, C1191–C1193). If desired, brush on a layer of Woodland Scenics plaster (C1201, C1180 or C1199) to seal further. Use Water Undercoat™ (CW4530–CW4535), Water Undercoat Terrain Paint (C1214), Earth Colors™ Liquid Pigment (C1215–C1223) or 100% acrylic paint to color water area. When water area is completely sealed and dry, pour Realistic Water slowly to a depth of 1/8 in (3 mm). Pull out to edges with a craft stick. Let cure until glass clear (min. 24 hrs). Pour additional layers 1/8 in (3 mm) thick, curing each layer until glass clear (max. depth, 1/2 in (12 mm)). Do not apply heat or a top sealer. Not for use with PVA glue. Cure above 70° F. ATTENTION: Store above 32° F. If product gels, let set at room temperature until returned to original state. Anything placed on top of cured Realistic Water will damage surface and become permanently adhered. NOTE: Realistic Water is compatible with all products in the Water System. See corresponding labels for further instruction."
i was using Woodland scenics undercoat. I figured that was safer. maybe i need to look
If you are using Woodland Scenics Realistic Water then Woodland Scenics Undercoat should work according to their instructions as I posted above.
I just did the paint and then flip to do realistic water on other side. So guess it works
