Rec for Std Gauge repair in So Cal | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have a MTH 392 Steam engine, with build a loco motor, that won't move after about 20 laps around the layout. It is new old stock. E unit buzzes, but that is it. The engine was very hot when I stopped it. The last couple of laps it was getting slower and slower. I lubed and oil it prior to running it.It was pulling five cars. Don't really want to ship it. Looking for recommendations for a place to get it fixed.

Milepost 38 in Yorba Linda is a good place to start. I know several of the guys there and they have excellent knowledge and do great work.

Thanks Jeff, They were my first thought. I had my prewar engines serviced by them and they did outstanding work. I wasn't sure if they worked on Std Gauge though. I called them last week to order some Std gauge track and they could not order it. I'll give them a call.

Any place that can service a conventional engine will do just fine.
