Just received the crossing signal with sound as well as the PRR Signal bridge. Nice pieces.!

Wiring instructions seem fairly easy, but theres no mention of a recommended voltage.

Lionels stuff is typically 10-12v or 12-14v.

I would like to know so as to not burn anything out or up.

I wanted to find a better way to run acc. and lights than another transformer so I invested in a switching power supply like radio hams, etc. use. I am running over 100 lights and acc. on 10.6 volts on multiple circuts. Power supply is at about 40 percent output. Slight noise from its cooling fan. About 125 or so dollars. I got mine at Amazon.

I use a discarded computer power supply I salvaged at our recycling center. Eight sets of signals, thirteen buildings, three MTH yard lights, and three billboards all at 12 VDC. I'm up to just over two  amps out of about fifteen capacity. I use The 5 VDC tap with a diode for Menards buildings. This power supply would probably do all of Cabinet Bob's buildings and more. Total cost? $0.
