I was going over some parts I’d bought at a friend’s estate sale several years ago. I’ve got the fixings for at least 3 unassembled Red Caboose GP-9 shells to plop on three mechanisms. Which is all very nice, but I have an era cut-off date set on December 31st,, 1950. The GP-9 didn’t come out until 1954.
Did Red Caboose make kits for GP-7s? Does anyone have one?

It was a phase II GP9, but with some work and some replacement louvers from Des Plaines Hobbies, you can build a passable GP7. That cutoff date leaves the issue of very early GP7s being what you need, meaning you'll have to build the rivet straps around the hood.
Red caboose did not do a GP7 kit, only the GP9

Des Plaines did have parts to kitbash the red caboose GP9 as mentioned above. Proabably still do.
