The monthly train show at the DuPage fairgrounds in Wheaton, IL is this coming Sunday.  It looks like it will be a cold and snowy one, but that usually doesn't stop us train nuts.

I am going and hope to see a lot of you at breakfast at The Verdict Restaurant.  I can't explain why so many of us seem to be going earlier all the time, but we still plan to meet at 7:00 AM, but if you show up at 6:30, you won't be lonely.

Looks like I need to talk to the restaurant about an expanded floor plan.

Rich, if you come to breakfast we can talk about when your new BB will be ready to test the clearances on my layout.  I think after adding more straight track to my one bridge approach that it will handle a BB.  My only worry is that my wife will fall in love with it and want me to get one.

If you guys are doing breakfast then, I'll join you.

Careful Rich, the one time I joined Art & the guys for "Breakfast @ 0700", I happened to get there about 5 minutes early, and everybody had already finished! Obviously, the REAL time is at least 0630.

I'm not sure why the time keeps getting earlier for some of the guys, but in fact it usually lasts from about 6:30 until close to 8:00 AM.  When I used to come early I would find one of the guys sitting there reading a book and drinking coffee.  If there is a prize for the first one there, I'm not aware of it and have definitely not been there to receive it either.

Hope to see you guys.

I'm still pushing for a nice brunch around 11:am and then the show after.. you'll get better deals late in the day anyway...think about it.....

Art just say the word and I'll pack that baby up and bring it Sunday! But that is only if Charlie is really going to show up...

Very funny Rich. Made me laugh this morning. I remember well many years ago when Charlie and I first started the Breakfast Club with other Forum members. Great guy to have ride in the Observation car with you.

So your the one who started the tradition of meeting in the middle of the night!

After just coming in from shoveling more drifted snow, I was wondering how badly I wanted to go this Sunday?  It's 4 degrees and windy right now, but at least sunny.

The good news is that it is supposed to be 29 degrees on Sunday----a heat wave.

Good friends, hot coffee, and interesting train talk will warm us up.  Did I mention the hot coffee?

My common sense would quickly agree with you, but I'll bet that there will be more people set up outside than you would expect.  Besides, our current wind chill factor is a -25 so it will seem like a heat wave.

Art, every time I see a thread about the DuPage County monthly train shows I fondly recall getting up early and driving from Lake Bluff to meet friends for breakfast at a diner and carpooling to the show from 1987-92.  Coming from the Atlanta area with the occasional TCA show or periodic commercial shows, DuPage was like a mini-York occurring monthly.

Enjoy yourselves.

Yes there is, Art, and I'm looking at it now. I can't believe there isn't one closer to you, but there is a way to solve that...

Everyone have fun tomorrow.
