Remote freezes after 4.20 update

Hi everyone, thanks for any input.

I have a non rev L TIU and remote.

I just updated the software on the TIU, then the remote to 4.20

When I got it, the TIU was on address 2.

After the update I changed the TIU address from 2 to 1.

Remote indicated COMPLETE, but would not do anything, it froze.

I yanked the batteries and power cycled the TIU, it flashed once indicating address 1, so the address change was successful.

I'm expecting my first DCS engine tomorrow, a nice PS3 GP20 (excited )

Obviously I won't know if I have any issues until tomorrow.

Anyone ever have their remote freeze up on you?

Barry would be the authority here, but I would try to download the remote software again before anything else.

Does the remote do anything at all? What happens if the TIU is powered up and you press READ on the remote?

Look for a button that's stuck in the down position.

Anyone ever have their remote freeze up on you?

Sure lots of times, Removing a battery is sometimes the only way out

Yeah, me too. I always thought there should be a reset switch if it's going to lock up that much. After straightening out my antennas, layout and engines it doesn't happen as often anymore.

But.....it did it again last week.....my fault. I asked it to do something that it couldn't and it locked. Now, if i could just remember what that was.....

Many thanks to Barry and all the other members that have answered my newbie questions over the last several weeks. I received my 1st DCS locomotive today and only with the help of this forums members did I finally get it working. My B&P GP-20 is now running on my rev G (ugh) TIU. Thank you everyone!!
