I knew the day would come when my air conditioning unit would fail and after 25 years it died and needed to be replaced. Thankfully I planned for it by making my scenery lift out. The top photo shows the scene involved. The photos that follow show the sections lifted out. They all lifted out easily in less than 5 minutes with minimal damage. The tunnel portal will need some touch up, but even the module that has pink foam showing that is sitting on the floor is okay. The pink foam is below the plywood when in place on the layout.

I thought you guys might find this interesting to see it come apart.

Christopher N&W, Your crafting of landscapes containing foliage is spectacular. It is far better than my own (not that I am the benchmark for good landscaping, but I try my best.) Yours is as real as can be. If you asked me to suggest one thing to make it better and offered me $1,000 for doing so, I'd say you would be keeping your money. I can't suggest a single thing to make it better. It's beautiful.

New refrigerants are different from old, and operate at much higher pressure, requiring the replacement of the tubing between exterior and interior units.  Focus of picture.   Sometimes the old tubing, if of very good quality, and strength, is purged of the old gases, and used again.   New variable control/speed equipment is much more efficient.   NewFossil fuel, (natural gas) fired heating units with variable control, are also much more efficient.  Replacing 20 year old equipment, usually reduces utility bills, significantly.

Best wishes with your project, late week, a series of 90+ degree days, here, Western PA.  Whew!!

Great pictures, Thank you, Mike CT.
