I first want to begin by stating that I'm new to the forum and over the years, the information I have obtained from this forum has been exceptional and has given me the confidence to make repairs.

I was having issues with one of the motors and noticed that wiring around the armature was unraveling. I thought that by simply cutting the wire would be a temporary fix but as the armature spins, the unraveling again occurs.  I obtained a replacement armature.

I grinded the face of the rivets to separate the motor housing from the field wiring component.

1) I'm looking for advice on how to remove the armature.

2) Once replaced, how do I go about re-securing the motor's housing to the field wiring component?

@ADCX Rob is absolutely right here. One removes the brush plate and then uses a press to separate the drive gear and armature which then completely liberates the armature from the motor housing. As they say, installation is reverse of removal.

@Buffalo_Bill, if your name has anything to do with your location, we may be located near enough to each other and I can help you out (my email is in my profile).
