Has anyone removed the shell from a Williams O-scale 4-6-2 Pacific engine and if so, was it easy like an MTH engine? I got a great deal on a Wabash , but plan on painting it Santa Fe when it arrives. I could brush it, but that never turns out the same. If it's challenging, I may end up brushing, then over-spraying with something.

Should be easy for you. Remove front and rear trucks. If I remember correctly the front or engine truck releases the front of the boiler. Two screws under the cab release the back of the boiler and cab from the chassis. I may be wrong, but it is very easy to figure out. Your biggest challenge is to successfully hold on to the screws. Suggest a magnetic bowl or place on a dedicated strip of masking tape and don't lose it.
Peace of cake!

On mine, the screw towards the front of the boiler is directly under the lead truck; the (2) screws holding the back are on the lower side of the rear of the cab.
As Ron (almost) said: "piece of cake!"

Dang, I did miss spell piece. DUH!
Thank you for the replies, that sounds easy enough. Yes, I do have a problem holding screws the older I get. I use a tweezers to help guide them into position and to lift them out. I have a magnet on my desk for such things luckily, or I'm sure I'd loose them. I knew someone on this forum could help, you guys (and gals) are the best - THANK YOU !
Let us know how it goes... with some pictures, please.
