can anyone suggest a good repair facility that does quality work with a decent turn around time. we have one locally but they take 3-4 month turnaround. I will gladly pay shipping to get a better turnaround. of course quality repair is a given. I would like to support someone who supports this forum.

Try GGG. He is the best.
I have a repair shop. Turn around is usually less than 2 weeks. Pre/post war and modern,
in Denver area. Drop an email if interested.

Chuck do you have a web site? Do you do older (1980's) HO? I have a HO Big Boy that was my grandfather's - it's never run, just a display, though it is an HO engine and tender setup. It was dropped and damaged by a cleaner, accidentally, from the shelf. There are broken plastic parts and one of the metal traction rods / arms is detached. I'm pretty handy but I don't want to make it worse.
Search the MTH and Lionel site to find one who is certified. If you have old postwar, anyone can fix it.
I do have a website (I do have a ad in the magazine). I will drop you an email.
Just noticed you have no email address in your profile, drop me an email and I will provide my website.
Rivarossi HO is do-able.
I have used Chuck Sator and was very pleased with his work, He repaired a Lionel engine made in 1986.
Gave me a estimate, a good one. he made the engine run great. Not saying he is cheap but is worth every cent he charges, Should another train need repair, will not hesitate to send it to Chuck. There are a lot of folks on this forum who can fix trains, don't think you will regret using Chuck.

The name Chuck Sartor has always generated positive reports. He is a solid OGR forum guy and someone you should consider.
Thank you for the kind words Marty!
I'm sure Chuck is a great choice.... but I went with George (GGG) due to some guys on here raving about him when I asked this question (others were mentions including Chuck I bet but I just grabbed a name and went with it) and got great service and his turnaround was super quick. But honestly if some of the long time guys on here tell me Chuck.... George..... or whoever I'd be ok sending my prized engine to them. Someone tooting their own horn is never good but getting a bunch of other's vetting someone on here is worth taking to heart!
Trainz.com sent an email out a few months ago saying they have full-time repair techs and very fast turn around. Located in Buford Ga, (north of Atlanta).
