I've got this unit with a broke coupler. Do I need to replace the entire truck or can I just swap out a coupler??

An exploded parts diagram shows the coupler as part of the motor truck assembly (610-8812-101). But it shows only the bits and piece that make up a coupler, minus the main coupler shank.
Looking at your picture, the truck looks suspiciously like the same truck used on the K-line MP15. Brasseur does list the coupler assembly for the MP15 (620-1692-055) at $12.50.
I do not know if they are interchangeable. Maybe one of the guys familiar with these pieces will jump in here. If not, you could call Brasseur and ask them.
Good luck.
Try 610-8263-055

Close, I should have posted a pic of the good side as well!! The coupler has the button release on the bottom. Then again, looking at the Brasseur pic a little harder, that's probably it. Thank You!

The 610-8263-055 does have the button on the bottom. The two couplers look very similar. Chuck is one of the most reliable sources concerning older Lionel parts, I would go with his recommendation.
