I've been looking at repair manuals and none seem to specifically cover Lionel from the MPC/ Fundemensions era. Am I missing something or is there a specific manual for trains during that period.
Lionel provides the Modern Era service manuals on line. You can download the whole set, or look up what you want right on line.
The site search capabilities leaves a lot to be desired. I often get no results when searching by stock number, only to find the pages by browsing though the manuals.
Regardless, here is a link.
You may even wanna try You Tube. There's a tutorial on repairing a PW E-unit and it goes step by step and is free.May be others there also.........
For the MPC era stuff, download supplement #1-9, and #17. The #17 is an index that you can look up by model number, then find the drawing & parts list numbers and reference then in #1-9. This is what I wound up doing.
Thanks guys I always appreciate the information you provide. Y'all are what makes this forum so fabulous.
Just got this DVD for Christmas; have not had a chance to view yet. From TM Books & Video:

I have "Greenberg's Operating & Repair Manual" that covers 1970 - 1978.
Copyright of 1978 and written by Stan Shantar
The ISBN # 0-89778-070-1
This book covers these years and then there is Greenberg's "Modern Era" book that covers 1977 - 1992. The ISBN # 0-89778-285-2
Might be able to find it on Amazon or the bay.
