I'm an old hand at replacing traction tires, but this one time, an MTH SD 60, has me railroaded. In order to replace the traction tires, I had to remove both truck sets from the body to get to the side screws. No problem, right? After replacing traction tires, I can not get the either truck sets back onto the body. Anyone please help with visuals, youtube, you name it.

Sometimes I have to remove the shell and manually rotate the motor flywheel to reseat the motor into the truck.

John is correct, sometimes you can't reseat the worm without rotating the flywheel. In addition, even if you reseat it, you may have captured a wire under the motor mount and be creating yourself some grief in the near future.
Thanks John and Gunrunner John. I'll remove the shell and double check the wire.

Have we ever discovered the genius that designed diesel units where you couldn't just unscrew the truck sides from underneath without having to disassemble the unit?

Whoever it was, it appears they fired him. Nowadays most new production has the screws on the bottom so you can just drop the sideframes.
The MTH sd60 is back running on the track. Thanks to John and Gunrunner John! I removed the shell in order to replace the reattach the truck set and it worked! Whoever designed this loco was diabolitically mindless!
