does anyone know of a place that sells small motors for accessories?
not lionel or mth.
I talking about replacement motors that can be used instead of pitching the accessories.

Radio shack carries various small motors.
Jameco has some. MicroMark might also have some.
thanks
someone some where had said there was a place in either Ohio, Indiana or Illinois that was making motors for accessories that are a direct replacement and better then lionel and mth motors.
Have a look at the vast selection at AllElectronics.
Sometimes useful motors can be salvaged for free out of old electronic devices or motorized toys.
I've found many on eBay. Search on DC instrument motors. Some that list for a couple of hundred bucks can be had for less than 20. Also search on gear motors as these may be better for accessories.

Yep - daBay. I just bought some Mabuchi 5-pole motors for possible Williams brass upgrades and Pullmor replacements. More than you need, but motors are all over the place.
A friend likes to but $5 HO locos at shows, detail them and replace the cheap little motors with those from automobile outside mirrors he gets at a salvage yard - tough, smooth, usually cheap, and far better than most model RR equipment - they have to tolerate snow, rain, heat, teenagers. His locos run very well.

Timko Repair Depot
eBay has tons of small motors of all sizes and shapes. I'm sure your motor is there, but you may have a time finding it.
