I have a postwar engine that needs new rollers. I notice that they are held in place with a rivot. Can anyone walk me through the process to replace them or point me in the direction of a video etc so I don't destroy other parts of the engine (lol).

The procedure varies depending on the loco model number. What do you have?

While the collector arms can be splayed and the roller replaced, it is usually easier to just replace the whole assembly with the updated 2023-22 unit:
ADCX is correct, but I don't know if it is easier. You will need to resolder wires and replace the whole collector assembly. And that is the expensive way to go. Simply use a small needle nose pliers and spread the arm assembly sideways. The pin is riveted to one end. Slide the old roller off and replace and replace the arm in the roller pin.
I agree with you, but how do you remove the rivot before spreading the assembly?
You don't need to remove the rivet. It is staked to one arm and loose on the other. Take a close look and you'll see what I mean.
If I am remembering correctly, only one end of the pin is riveted. The other simply fits into a hole in the arm.
