What's a good way to remove old and broken classification jewels

Carefully with a dental pick or something similar,clean the area and apply new jewels with a DROP of glue......

Do not use crazy look or anything like it it will cause a haze on the crystal. See pic dries crystal clear

Only thing I’ll add to Joe’s comments, wear safety glasses, or something, …..I’ve picked a few gazillion out in my time, and every once in a while, I’ll get a ricochet…..always seems to bounce off my glasses!!……

I use Duco cement in the hole before placing the jewel...just a dab placed on the end of a toothpick. Rub the glue as deep in the marker as you can and sort of "butter" the interior sides of the marker's hole. Another tip, lick your index finger (yes, this is highly technical work) or pinkie, then place that finger on the rhinestone side to carefully pick it up and gently place the back side into the markers hole.
