I have a 1973 PRR NW2.
Single Ac/Dc pullmor motor with mechanical e-unit.
I have an extra electronic unit.
It is from K-line dual can motor S-2.
I think it has only four wires.

Will this work and how would I wire it?
My other option is to wire a bridge rectifier to the mechanical e-unit.
Not sure which is the ideal way.
My primary goal is to eliminate ate buzz in neutral but any operating performance would also be a plus.

There is a method to use a DC motor reverse unit with a bridge rectifier to keep the current flowing in the same direction through the field while polarity of the brushes is reversed.  I have done this with the Lionel 103 e-unit on a single AC motor Alco.  Runs fine.  Just lower top speed.  If interest I will post directions.  G
