I have a few postwar, MPC, and early issue modern freight cars that could use a truck/coupler changeout due to excessive rust, damage or coupler function problems.  If I could get some trucks with couplers that were taken off PS-1 (scale?) freight cars and could engineer a way to pin, rivet or bolt to the bottom of my older freight cars, would they fit otherwise? (width, height, coupler length, etc.) Conformation to prototype is less important than just having a good clean, black, serviceable truck and coupler under these cars.  Since the PS-! cars in question were converted from three rail to two rail, I'm hoping wheel flanges would be appropriate for fastrack, traditional, conventional operation.

I would appreciate any input, advice, or suggestions . . .

They should work as long as the coupler arm length is the same, even an eigth of an inch too long will give you trouble, needs to be almost exactly the same length. Another thing to watch out for on post-war freight cars is the steps on the quad hoppers, will it hit the steps or not?

If you are changing out Weaver cars you might have some major problems.
