Replacing Plug On Marx 1239 50 Watt Transformer | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Hello All,

I need to replace the plug on this transformer. It is a two prong non-polarized type from the 1950s. Do I need to be concerned about one side of the cord being hot and the other being ground when I attach the new 15 amp 2 prong plug to it? BTW - The original cord seems fine.

No need to be concerned. Transformers don't care which way they are wired to the plug.

It's only of concern if you plan to synchronize two separate transformers. Otherwise, as Larry says, enjoy your transformer and the holidays!
