I want to replace the shoe plate TC109 on a Lionel F-3 Locomotive dummy unit.
If I remove the solder from the Shoe TT-208, then incert the shoe plate TC109, then replace the wire and resolder it I will not have to replace the rivet or re-rivet.
IF my wire did not have a light socket base attached at the other end it would probably be easier just to slip the shoe plate TC 109 up that way. But I don't want to remove the light socket base (unless that is the way to go.)
My concern is I do not have a small advil, a riverter or rivet punch. To buy such would b more cost than a complete collector ready to install.
What do you think?
