My lionel pennsilvania flyer came with 60hz cheap plastic transformer but i found 3-4 older used lionel 90hz there was a lionel ho transformer that is about the size of a shoe box in with them . How do i check them to make sure they are in good working condition. I have a muti meter just not sure what to look for

Look on the Transformers for their out put. The HO one is DC so you don't want to try to run trains off it(Their AC) . Look at the out put and set your voltmeter to AC or DC accordingly. red lead on the hot black on the common. Power up the transformer and see what you've got. The voltage should go up and down

What are the model numbers of the transformers? Maybe a typo, but not aware of any 90Hz transformers. The DC transformer is only for the DC starter sets.
