Several years ago, I came across the FRA list of reporting marks. I used it as a table in my inventory database (4,000+ records). I also added the unofficial reporting marks for Angels Gate Hi-Railers (AGHR, AGHX) and Paradise & Pacific (P&P, PPRX). I was thinking it would be a pretty cool thing if the model railroad clubs with their own roads had a registry of reporting marks so we could know who's out there. Thoughts?

It would be a cool database to have. Especially if their physical address was included so you could easily road trip to each railroad!

I'm still waiting for Lionel to make a Vision Line tank car in Pepto Bismol pink with the GASX markings. It could have interesting, er, sounds! 
This is a good idea and one i don't think our club has considered. The big plus is it could be a registry and useful for possible visits as @BillYo414 mentions. Maybe we could find a place for it to live on the forum?
In acquiring a tidy mess of undecorated freight cars from Cabin Fever's MTH warehouse auctions, I've thought about making up temporary "reporting marks" to place on these cars travelling together in a regular train, "journeying" to their new home (i.e. my collection). Conveniently, 'CFAX' happens to be an unassigned mark the last time I checked
