Am trying to do a reset on a TMCC (RS5) steamer using the Cab2. As I understand the sequence from the manual its sw to PROG, power on, ENG, ID, SET. Then ENG, ID again and press AUX1. Enter '74' and power down. Sw back to RUN.
My question is this - when hitting AUX1 the Cab2 keypad changes to icons rather than the numbers so I am unable to actually enter '74'. I went ahead and hit the tabs where the 7 and the 4 should be but don't know if the reset has actually taken place.
I looked through the Legacy manual but didn't see anything for resetting a TMCC engine. Would I need a Cab1 and base for this?
The problem I'm dealing with is that I've lost control of the tender. Everything appears normal with the IR boxes lined up fine and solid. The tender works Ok hooked to our PRR T1 but the T1's tender doesn't work either with this steamer. Everything was fine last week with the loco/tender working normally but I had to ship the locomotive out and back for another issue. The tender remained at home.
Now I have some kind of disconnect. Is there anything else I can do before having to pull the shell from the loco?
Thanks guys
