Hi,

I'm not exactly new to collecting, repairing, and operating 3-rail trains, but I'm a bit on the young side. (Turned 20 this year.) I've had a nearly lifelong love of 3 Rail O-Gauge, particularly Lionel. Also, I'm bit of a sucker for cabooses and intermodal equipment.

I have recently acquired a Lionel 6517 Bay Window Caboose, in decent shape. A few parts were replaced, and some soldering work was done by my dad. The red paint itself is in rather good shape. Sadly, Some of the lettering has ended up being obliterated by the time I got it. The Lettering also seems to be rubber-stamped...and therein lies the problem...

If it was heat-stamped like most of my postwar equipment, I could just apply a bit of paint and wipe the rest carefully away... However, I can't do that here.

I would appreciate some advice on how to restore the lettering... I do have a few ideas, but I want to get a few more opinions on the subject first...
