I've been retrofitting my 21" K-Line 3-rail Empire State Express passenger cars with K-Line's 2-wheel conversion "kits" (six 2-rail axles, drill bits, wires, etc.) Two kits services 3 cars. I'm removing the lights, so I don't care about electrical pickup. I want to do the same to my Golden Gate Depot ESE cars. Are there similar kits available for GGD cars?

I have two pair of two rail trucks I can trade for two pair of three rail trucks for these same cars.
Pete
No but you should be able to purchase some wheel sets from NWSL and swap them out. There’s no difference between the 2 rail and the 3 rail trucks
There should be a difference - Hi-Rail trucks are generally wider. To make things simpler, importers will often use spacers on two rail wheelsets.
I use a lot of NWSL shouldered wheelsets. For K-Line, you need to drill the bushings out #41. I prefer cast All Nation trucks for the K-Line cars. A few of mine have Wasatch trucks, or even Kemtron. The K-Line truck sideframes are of a Chinese railway prototype.
Admittedly, I have never disassembled a GGD truck. Could be the NWSL just slips in without sideplay.
I bought a GGD ESE car on the Bay that has a NWSL needlepoint axle. It is 1.81", tip to tip, while the GGD axles are 1.85". The 0.04" difference is too big to use the 1.81" axle, but drilling out the bushings for the shouldered axles sounds like a great idea. Maybe "someday" I'll have Wasatch trucks.
Looking forward to swapping 2 pair of trucks with Pete tomorrow.
GGD has a supply of 2-rail axles for the NYC ESE cars (and possibly others.) I'm told that GGD's newer cars no longer come with pointed axles, like the ESE cars. They have both chromed and weathered axles in stock for the ESE cars. I contacted Bob (theelectricrailroad@gmail.com). $6/axle plus shipping.
