Good day, Lionel 3-Rail Scale Enthusiasts,
I wanted to take this time to share my thoughts and video review I conducted for Lionel's Hustle Muscle Freight Set from the 2021 Vol II Catalog.
The Good:
I was glad to see Lionel release an SD45 Hustle Muscle for the first time in the Burlington Northern Cascade Green.
The rolling stock options are nice, tell the story of BN and its heritage very well, and all have quite a bit of separately applied details.
The cuppola cam caboose is a very valuable addition to the set--as such with all of the rolling stock, it is a great value.
This is my first up close look at the newly released die-cast fire trucks from Lionel, they remind me a lot of the B-series Mack trucks released by Corgi.
The Bad (My bad, that is)
I made the mistake of taking the lack of brake cylinders at face value—they were not put on. But as it turns out, just like the number boards not being the same font as BN had on most of their locomotives in their history, 6430 did indeed lack brake cylinders as well as possess number boards that had the UP Gothic font.
Overall, this Hustle Muscle set is a very nice set and even for Lionel, a Grand Slam in prototypical accuracy, even if I didn’t realize it. I have attached my video for everyone to enjoy!
Best,
Racetrack Route Joe.
