Norscot 55025 CAT D11R Tractor Dozer in 1/50 Scale

 

This Caterpillar D11R tractor is a very large heavy duty bulldozer used on major excavation projects.  This model is made by Norscot Group Inc., Mequon, Wisconsin (Made in China). It is a highly detailed diecast metal model that is accurately scaled to 1:50 proportions. Models such as this one could be used with an O scale model railroad construction site.

The Caterpillar D11R is a track-type tractor manufactured by Caterpillar Inc. (then called the Caterpillar Tractor Company). It is a modern tractor that uses the elevated drive sprocket to improve durability, operator comfort, and ease of maintenance.

I work for Caterpillar & here are some images of me (5’7” tall) around the D11. I am also including some pictures of the Norscot 1:50 scale D11T with a construction person from the Bachmann Maintenance Workers collection.

Thank you, Naveen    The reason for, the raised final drive system with a lower idler, dates to many years ago.  The drive system, with just two idlers, put tremendous stress on the tractor trans-drive system, when turning under load, not recommended, causing catastrophic failures.  

 

I think everyone should have their chance to move some dirt
