I'm speculating these were ordered to Lionel and the customers backed out. Instead of cancelling with Lionel, they are keeping the order in and hope to sell to a different customer.  That would make sense to me.

I bought a large quantity of Big Boys and I ordered a few extras for the last minute buyers. Believe it or not we have not had one person cancel their order. This has been the best selling engine we seen in a longtime. Lionel has closed the ordering for Big Boys. The person who wants to buy one after they are released is going to pay more.

This sorta reminds of watching news unfold on CNN in this modern era when more raw information flows than is really fit for consumer consumption.  Sometimes "waiting" for the dust to settle can be a good thing.

 

I have no horse in this race, but it's interesting to watch different signals cross the airwaves.

That is correct Lionel Has extended the order dead line on the Signature Catalog till the 28th. I need to read my E-mails more and stay off the forum.
We have already placed our order for our Lionel Product but we can add till Tuesday.
