Rewiring a Williams U33C for series connected motors
The Williams U33C diesel is a nice conventional powered O scale engine. The following information shows how to rewire the model to provide a lower top speed and add directional LED lighting. The diagram attached shows how to modify the wiring to connect the motors in series. Also shown is a LED circuit that provides directional headlights.
The motors are wired in series by cutting in half one yellow wire from motor 1 and one blue wire from motor 2. And then these wires are reconnected as shown. The remaining yellow and blue wires attached to the circuit board are then wired to the directional LED headlight circuits.
