I understand how to rewire the coils on the switches but I do not unerstand or can find info to rewire so that if a train or wheels are on the non derailing part it does not shut off the power to the coils as the super O  swithches do and the 022

has any one opened thhem up and rewired them  asnd if so have a diagram on what to do.. I was thnking of using a dwarf signal for lights any help would be appreciated ..  I saw a capaicator idea but did not want to go that way,...thanks Daniel

With the 1122/1122E switches, "if a train or wheels are on the non derailing part it does not shut off the power to the coils" already, so I assume you want to modify them to shut off.

The capacitor discharge/charge circuit is the easy way to do what you want.

Otherwise, you need to make mechanical changes to each switch, entailing the use of a pair of SPST NC switches(microswitches, eg.), one at each end of the travel of the rack, to shut off the energized coil once it has moved the points all the way over.

This is precisely how K-Line did it, but they only used one microswitch(SPDT) and an ingenious arrangement with a rigid wire hoop that slid over(on/off) the switch trigger only at the extremes of the switch points travel.
