Has anyone read the book

Railroaded: The Transcontinental and making of Modern America?

Worthwhile read as a page turner, or a put to sleep PhD tome?  New facts or interesting angles not explored in previous Transcontinental books that we probably all have, collecting dust, on our bookshelves.

Listening this morning 08/01 on local public radio interview with Richard White about this book.
