How do the RMT 6400 boxcars compare in size to MTM Railking boxcars?
They are selling at a very reasonable price but I'm not sure how they will look beside my RK cars.
A picture showing the comparison would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

They are the same size as Lionel's traditional boxcars ( 6464 size ), so a tad smaller than MTH RailKing boxcars.
Thanks for the reply.
kstrains...I am sure you will not be disappointed. At $19.99 each they are certainly a good deal as RMT customers have found. Try an RMT 64 series boxcar and see for yourself.
Thanks.

They are from the excellent molds that K-Line made. Except for the anachronistic roller bearing trucks, these cars are spectacular. They are the same size as Lionel 6464 series cars, but much nicer.
I have a ton of the ore cars and hopper cars, they're very nice. If the boxcars are of similar quality, and the one's I've seen have been, you won't be disappointed. As stated, they're 6464 sized, so they'll be a bit smaller than the typical RK cars.
For the money they can't be beat! They are smaller than RailKing boxcars but they look great behind smaller traditional sized locomotives.
I only have a few of the Woodside Reefers, and compared to a Rail King Boxcar, they'd scale out to about a '36 car. I am super impressed with the woodside reefers, the graphics, the quality, are outstanding. I'd given up on anyone making a decent looking semi-scale woodside reefer. I think you'd be just fine running the two together. I do it all the time and it looks good to my eye.
Here is a photo I just took of a RailKing and a RMT boxcar.
I will say the paint quality on the RMT cars is very good, it belies their inexpensive price.
Russell and gunrunnerjohn...Appreciate your comments and for being RMT customers.
I take great interest in the painting and lettering of all RMT products. Quideline and Rule of thumb for me is...would I buy it myself? That's the level of attention placed on all RMT products.
I've got 4 of the ore cars and they are very nice...and my son thinks they look even better with the loads painted flat black to look like coal, like our other coal hoppers...hey, if it makes him happy....
Walter...the boy would be more impressed if the missle on the missle car flats would "shoot"...that's a quote from him. ..he's 8!{but that'd be cool too}
