With the ever increasing amount of fantasy paint schemes did you ever wonder how different people come up with the numbering scheme   I started having Jeff Sohn paint some models in what if schemes and I used numbers that the Erie Lackawanna had intended for those model locomotives   But I just had a question on some of our custom run cars   Starting with our fifth custom run car we started using dates for numbers   The dates we use are to memorialize members of our club that have passed away   The first one was for our benefactor Marty Horning  The Gablinger beer cars had two numbers   One was his date of birth and one was his date of passing   We have done many members including Marty Fitzhenry   We always give the cars to the family members to honor them   Our latest two cars ( Bush Termial flat w/ Mrs Stahls trailers and CNJ Flat with Ebinger BAkers Trailers )  are to honor the forums MArio Evangelista and another member named Gerry Rutigliano    So if you see a 0 to start a number on our car its because its a date of significance
