Today my wife and I saw the IMAX film, "Rocky Mountain Express." It is easily the most stunning video of a steam locomotive in action I've ever seen and highly recommend it. Here is the trailer for it. It stars Canadian Pacific Hudson 2816.
I do have a question about the 2816. It has a box-like shield around three sides of the whistle, what is its purpose? Is it to reduce its volume towards the cab and rest of the train?
