I just started reading Rod Stewart's autobiography, "Rod, the Autobiography" and was surprised to learn when I reached Page 72 that Rod is and has been a model railroader for several years. I didn't buy Rod's book I check'em out at the library but it is an interesting read if you are a rock and roll fan like I am.

When he was divorced from Rachel Hunter a comment was made that he spent more time with his train than with her. Bad choice Rod, bad choice

"His train set. He has 100ft of track, modelled on New York Central in the Forties. It was featured in a model railway magazine last year. "I've got a great train set on the third floor of my house. It's brilliant and it relaxes me. One needs a good hobby, a good sport, a good girl, a good doctor and a good lawyer. This is the dog's doo-dah, this is."

Not really, Dave Letterman has his own interest in Lionel trains, there is a clip on you tube from October 2012 where he talks with Neil Young and he tells Neil how much "he and his son" are into Lionel trains. They also discuss the smell of older Lionel Trains, from the way Dave reacts, I think he has post war as well.  There is also an article on line about him buying $3500 worth at the Lionel pop up store one year.

I've also heard him say that he always has a couple of glasses of good wine as he is enjoying running his trains. (Its an ice cold bottle or two of Bud for me)

Yea Vulcan, I think I heard that he had something to do with a few hit tunes over the years.

I first found out about his HO interest when I brought my family to "NorthLands" on route 202 in NJ, he placed his autograph on the wall of the snack bar. They told me that he sometimes pops in when in the area.

The lady behind the counter said that she met him and he was easy to talk too.
