Roger visits MrMuffin'sTrains.... No, not Rabbit - Farkash!

We had a GREAT day yesterday running trains with several new families visiting and welcoming the first of the guests in town for the Lionel Collector's Club of America national convention.

Last night we were visited by the LCCA Board of Directors and we got to run trains with them. It was like getting to sing with Sinatra, not that they are THAT old. On the board and in our shop (!) was Roger Farkash of TW Design / Trainworx  In addition to building custom layouts for people, including Warren Buffett and the Lionel display layouts, he designed and created our "Buffet Bridge." What a treat to have him here. In addition to my getting to say hello, and having Roger untangle a huge wreck I created on the main line ("it's best to start the train in front first, then the second train, then the third train" - "Thanks, Roger"), Mrs Muffin and Roger spent the evening talking scenery and swapping ideas. They were probably telling jokes about my scenery techniques. "and let me tell you about the time he......" Here's a picture of Mrs Muffin and Roger by the "Buffet Bridge." I managed to squeeze my way into the shot. What a treat for the Muffin's. Who will be next - Picasso? Rich Batista? The NJ HighRailers? Jim the Bridge Boss? Ed Boyle?!?!

PS - Did you know Roger is from Texas?.... You can tell by that thumb in the pocket. It's his shooting hand. Mrs Muffin can't hang her thumb in her pocket - thanks to the table saw. But that's another story.......

If you're in town for the convention, please come up to Carmel and visit us! I think it's only 6 lefts and 7 rights, or is that 8 rights, from the hotel. Free admission for LCCA members. Actually, its free for everyone, but you need to make them feel special. 146 W. Carmel Drive, Carmel, Indiana..... A five-iron off the Monon Trail. Actually, a well swung putter would hit it.

Gotta run - I need to swap some of the 20 or so MTH Premier engines on the track for a FEW Lionel big steamers - as I have been told - it's not the MCCA!

Looks like a great time Steve, and I'm sure that everyone enjoyed being with you and Mrs. Muffin. As someone who has only gotten to know you a bit at York, you are a class act and I'm sure that everyone had a fantastic time.

I'm glad that you were finally able to read the memo that it is the LCCA. Does that mean there will be a fire sale on some MTH steamers? Or did I miss that already.

Sometime I hope to get out your way and when I do, I certainly would like to see your layout. In the meantime, why don't you plan on coming east for Trainstock at the NJ HiRailers next January or the TCA national convention which METCA is sponsoring in the garden state of New Jersey next June. If you come to either, you will certainly be welcome to visit me.
